A/C Charging Tips

It’s that time of year again when air conditioning season is right around the corner, but it’s
a little too cold to charge the A/C’s. Some dealers choose to set the unit and return in the spring to do a
start-up when the weather is 70 degrees or warmer. By just measuring the length of the lineset and simple
math calculation, you could weigh in the charge and most likely not have to return on a warmer day.
Most of our condensers are factory charged for applications that include 15’ of lineset. For every
additional foot of length over 15’ just add .60 oz of R410a refrigerant and walk away! It’s that simple.
Hint; With the cold weather, add your additional charge to the lineset and coil before you turn the
condenser loose. That way you won’t have low tank pressure issues, getting the additional charge into the System.
